What is the frame made from?

We get many questions about the construction material for the frame of the Axis Straight Desk.  The sturdy frame is made out of steel and is powder coated, either in white or black. 

What is the top made from?

The top is made from melamine.  Melamine is an ideal construction material for office furniture because it is extremely durable, won’t warp in hot or cold temperatures or over time, and is easy to clean and maintain.  Because it is a relatively lightweight material, it also makes the Axis Straight Desk easy to move around or relocate if necessary. 

Is the top water proof?

Because of its melamine construction, it is easy to clean up any spills or stains on the top of the Axis Straight Desk’s surface.  Generally all that is needed is a damp cloth to clean the area down.

What are the options with the desk drawers?

Because the Axis Straight Desk is essentially a blank canvas, you can add a range of items to it to tailor it to your specific needs.  One of the most useful is a set of mobile drawers, and we offer two types – a three drawer version and a four drawer version.  Both of our mobile drawer units are $199.

Can I get screen dividers with the desk?

If you need extra privacy, need to screen off an area or looking at sound minimisation in your office, a screen divider is another option you can add to the Axis Straight Desk.  The screen divider is $229.

Are the desk feet adjustable?

The Axis Straight Desk comes with black adjustable feet – up to 80 millimetres – that can be unscrewed to fix an uneven surface or for any reason. 

What sizes do the desks come in?

The Axis Straight Desk comes in a variety of sizes, including:

How much does the desk weigh?

Thanks to its lightweight but sturdy melamine construction, the Axis Straight Desk is relatively easy to manoeuvre around, with the smaller sized desks being able to be moved by one person.  For the larger sized desks we recommend two people move them, one on either end of the desk.  The desks range in weight from around 35 kilos to 50 kilos.

Can the desk be shared by two people?

The Axis Straight Desks can be put side by side or lengthwise for two people to share, especially with the larger sized models. 

Assembly instructions

The Axis Straight Desks do not come pre-assembled, however assembly is very easy.  We supply all necessary instructions in an easy to follow instructional reference sheet, which is similar to the ones you might get when buying a piece of furniture from Ikea. 

The only equipment you’ll need (apart from the supplied bolts) is an electric drill to attach the frame to the desktop. 

Assembly time

Assembly of the desk will take around 10 to 15 minutes. 

Delivery

How long will it take before I receive my desk?

Expected delivery for the Axis Straight Desk will be around two to five working days. Obviously delivery times vary depending upon where you’re located, however for all metro areas, we usually give this timeframe as a guide.  Occasionally delivery times vary depending upon where we have available stock also, but if we think there will be any potential delays, we’ll be in touch to inform you ahead of time. 

Our delivery is Australia-wide.

Can you send my order our via courier or express post?

Where possible, we will try to fit in with any special requests in relation to priority shipment and delivery.  Occasionally we will not be able to fulfil such requests so it is always best to contact us with any enquiries you have.  

What is the warranty?

Our Axis Straight Desks come with a 10 year warranty on the frame and a 5 year warranty on the work surface.

Damage in transit

If for any reason you receive your office desk and it may have been damaged in transit, then simply send us a photo and we will work with you to resolve the matter. Typically we send out replacements without any hassles.  Please note that this rarely happens.
